At hatwer.ch, sharing works through mutual trust. These rules help borrowers act responsibly with borrowed items.
Treat borrowed items with the same care as if they were your own. This is the foundation of trust between borrower and lender.
Return borrowed items on time. If you need more time, ask first and agree on a new return date.
Respond promptly to messages. If something breaks or is delayed, tell the lender immediately instead of hiding it.
Check before borrowing how insurance and liability are handled. This is important in case of accidents or damage.
Don't lend borrowed items to others. The lender has the right to know who is using their property.
Use borrowed items only for their intended purpose. No unauthorized modifications or changes.
Small repairs and normal wear are part of the loan agreement. Larger damages should be covered by the borrower.
When borrowing items (e.g., tools), use them at reasonable times and be mindful of family and neighbors.
Pay rental fees on time and in full. This is fair to the lender and maintains trust.
The person offering the item may ask for a deposit. You pay it directly to them, hatwer.ch is not involved in the payment. You get the deposit back when you return the item complete and in the agreed condition.
Look at the item carefully at handover, check the photos in the record and only confirm what is correct. Take your own photos at the return and report problems in the record straight away. The record is voluntary. hatwer.ch does not review its content and does not decide on damage or liability.
Give honest feedback: How was your experience? Did the lender communicate fairly? A good rating helps others and builds trust.
This information is for guidance and does not replace legal advice. In case of disputes, we recommend speaking with each other or seeking legal help.
